Get Connected
There are numerous opportunities to "get connected" with other people at Meadows, from summer cookouts to celebrating a Thanksgiving meal together; from small group discussions to helping in the church office; from party planning to prayer chains; from working with children to caring for someone in need; from singing to organizing a youth mission trip. These are just a sampling of ways to get involved at Meadows.
Monthly Fellowship Events Everything from pot luck dinners to special concerts to “road trips” , each month we have a different opportunity to gather for fun, fellowship and usually some of the best home cooking around! Keep an eye on the calendar.
Dinner Four An opportunity to meet and get to know other members at Meadows. The Spring segment will begin in February and end in April. Singles and married couples get together once each month, usually in groups of eight, for food and fellowship. Participants volunteer to host dinners on a rotating basis. Contact Linda Powell or Cheryl Pearson.
Classes Meadows offers Sunday School for children, youth and adults from September through June of each year.
Volunteer There are many volunteer opportunities for getting involved both here at Meadows and in the community. We are Partners in Ministry with a wide range of community organizations in the Charlottesville area.
Committees You can become directly involved in many of the church's activities by serving on one of our committees; from buildings and grounds to worship; from spiritual growth to office adminstration; from Christian education to personnel; there is a job for everyone.
Nurture There are opportunities to participate in a prayer chain, visit shut-ins or those in the hospital or nursing homes; or perhaps provide transportation for someone to come to church.
Becoming a Member If you are interested in exploring the idea of becoming a member of Meadows or would like to simply find out more about who we are, please consider joining us for a session of Meadows and Me. This is a four-week class led by our pastor which covers topics ranging from “What it means to be Presbyterian: History and Governance” to the distinctives of Reformed Theology. It is our prayer this course will be a time of encouragement and growth in your relationship with Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church.
